# Manage your birds

Open `/admin.html` on the site preview or website. The manager uses invited Netlify Identity accounts with the `admin` role. Visitors cannot create, change or delete listings, or view draft photos.

## First account

In this project's Netlify dashboard, open Identity and invite your email. Accept the invitation and set your password. In Identity, open your user record, add `admin` in Roles, and save. Then sign in at `/admin.html`. Only assign this role to trusted people who manage the business. You can set registration to Invite only in the Identity settings; newly registered accounts never receive admin privileges automatically.

Invitation and recovery links open the manager from the homepage automatically. Use Send password reset email on the sign-in screen if needed. No password is stored in the website source.

## Add a bird

Choose Add a bird. Enter its name, category and availability, and upload your own JPEG, PNG or WebP photo (under 4 MB). Use a photo of the actual bird. Leave Price empty to show no price; if entering a price, include the currency, for example ₹. Add care or age details only when known.

Select Preview listing to inspect the card. Save draft keeps it private. Publish listing saves it to the public collection after confirmation. Photos retain their complete frame rather than cropping the bird. Listings appear newest updated first.

## Change or remove

Choose Edit beside a listing. Upload another photo to replace the current one, or leave the upload empty to keep it. Change availability to Available, Reserved, Sold, or Enquire for availability. Save draft also removes an existing published listing from the public collection. Remove deletes the listing and its stored photo after confirmation.

Preview data is separate from production listings. Photos uploaded in previews are also separate from production photos. Preview listings do not automatically become live listings when the site is published; add production listings in the production manager after publishing. Test with your own photos in the preview, then review the site before approving publication.

## WhatsApp

Buttons use the existing business number +91 91674 09707. Each bird enquiry includes its name and requests current details. The visitor reviews and sends the message in WhatsApp. To change the number, update `birds.js`, `script.js`, and the contact links in the HTML pages.

## Website preview and publishing

Review `/available.html`, `/admin.html`, and the unchanged story/contact pages in the deploy preview before publishing through Netlify. No production deployment was requested from the command line during this update. Listings start empty until your own photos are uploaded; no stock photos or invented prices were inserted.
